The SportMixer is a BlenderBottle shaker whose twist lid opens easily, here in white with a capacity of 820 ml. BlenderBottle says the Tritan plastic resists odours and stains, and the textured grip helps you hold the shaker even with wet hands. Inside is a stainless-steel BlenderBall wire whisk that breaks up powder as you shake, so it works for protein shakes, pre-workout drinks or plain water. It has a foldaway carry loop, and measurement markings are printed on the cup. BlenderBottle says the bottle is free of BPA and phthalates and backs it with a leak-proof guarantee.
Drop the BlenderBall whisk and your ingredients into the bottle, liquids first, then powders. Screw the lid on firmly and close the cap fully. Hold the upper half of the bottle and shake well with a twist of the wrist. Wash the shaker before first use and straight after each use. It can go on the top rack of the dishwasher with the BlenderBall in the cutlery basket, or you can wash it by hand in warm soapy water.
Not for hot or warm liquids: pressure can build up in the sealed bottle, so the cap may open and spray the contents. Not for carbonated drinks either. Take care with ingredients that build pressure, such as batter, and hold a finger over the cap while shaking. Always point the spout away from your face when you open the cap. Do not microwave, and never with the BlenderBall whisk inside. Freezing is not recommended, as the plastic may become brittle.
